City Impact Lab is a monthly breakfast attended by a diverse range of distinguished Los Angeles leaders. Every month, we feature a new speaker and engaging workshop activities — CURRENTLY HELD ONLINE!
Meet this month’s speaker: Ron Galperin, L.A. City Controller
Los Angeles Controller Ron Galperin is the taxpayers’ watchdog at City Hall, making sure public dollars are spent efficiently and effectively. He is also the elected paymaster, auditor and chief accounting officer for the City of Los Angeles.
Galperin oversees a team that conducts independent audits, manages City payroll and spending, prepares financial reports, pursues fraud and waste, and works to create a more transparent and accountable city for everyone. His reports are improving street maintenance, arts funding, management of special funds, L.A.’s trees, emergency services and many other City functions.

City Impact Lab attendees come from all backgrounds, including government, the arts, neighborhoods, nonprofits, and business. Come connect with your future collaborators, mentors, and partners.

Each City Impact Lab breakfast begins with a presentation from a civic, business, and/or community leader who shares their personal experiences and strategies. We then conduct online activities that draw themes from the presentation and engage attendees on the challenges they are facing in their own work.
