When you think of your relationships, how much do these traits matter: Trust? Empathy? Respect?
If they are central to your success, now is the time to build your network on these authentic, positive, personal traits because they impact your relationships in your community.

Now the time to truly learn how to listen so your community speaks honestly to you. Your community is in crisis. Now is when they need you to build relationships of trust and empathy. This course gives you that know-how.

Join us for ComIO Basic Training and start on your path to become a certified Community Intelligence Officer. The fundamentals of ComIO include communication skills and engagement tactics that apply to work in government, business, and non-profit settings. You’ll also learn strategies to ask the right questions to the right people at the right time so your engagement efforts will enrich the work you do.

ComIO training helps you become better at understanding and relating to the people you serve and work with. When people know you are listening and empathize with them, you can build relationships of trust so you can work together effectively to tackle community issues.

This online ComIO Basic Training is a cumulative four hours (separated by a one-hour lunch break) led by John Bwarie, Founder & CEO of Stratiscope, and Angela Babcock, Vice President of Stratiscope, who together bring more than 40 years of community engagement expertise to their work and ComIO classes.

These online, interactive sessions push attendees to think differently about their relationships with individuals and the resulting dynamics. This training reinforces fundamental concepts while introducing components from psychology, sociology, and anthropology to enhance the work of the attendees. These two courses are perquisites to begin the ComIO Certification program.

After attending and fully participating in the ComIO Basic Training, attendees will be able to:

  • More effectively engage communities and develop connections
  • Better serve more constituents more efficiently
  • Enhance their own and their organization’s communication, strategy, and organizing skills
  • Develop strategic engagement plans to achieve their mandate

Attendees will also leave the training with:

  • A customized engagement framework for their specific role
  • Reference materials
  • Eligibility to take further courses to become a certified Community Intelligence Officer (ComIO)
